FOCUS GROUPS POST TRIAL INTERVIEWS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS CONTACT AJR LOGIN HOME |
![]() MOCK TRIALS Two to six groups of mock jurors watch one to three hours of live or videotaped presentations of summary arguments from each party; plaintiff & defense, or in criminal cases, prosecution & defense. Exhibits and jury instructions are distributed to the jurors so they can evaluate the presentations in preparation for the afternoon's deliberations (various segments of witness testimony may also be included). Following the presentations, the individual jurors complete questionnaires which tests verdict preferences and reactions to various aspects of the case. Next, each jury deliberates separately to a verdict for approximately one to three hours. Following the jury deliberations, a facilitator leads each jury through a detailed interview, exploring issues which affected the verdict and seeking other information of interest. MOCK JUROR'S TESTIMONIALS: "I feel guilty taking money from you, I had such a good time." "I have always wanted to serve on a jury before, thanks for giving me the opportunity." "Is this what a jury really does in a trial? If so, I won't try to get out of jury duty next time." "I've been called to do jury duty three times, although this was the first time I ever got to be on a jury, thanks." "This was a very interesting process." "I love jury duty." "Can I sign up to do this again?" |
